It’s surprising to learn that Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler have only worked together in three films, given the fantastic on-screen chemistry they share.
The pair first teamed up in Just Go with It in 2011 and later reunited for Murder Mystery in 2019, followed by Murder Mystery 2, which was released just last year.
Over the years, they’ve both openly discussed their close friendship.
Aniston, now 55, has described Sandler as “one of the kindest, most genuine people I know.”
Meanwhile, Sandler, 57, has praised Aniston, saying she’s “as funny as she is professional.”
But things took an unexpected turn when Aniston discovered what Sandler had gifted his Grown Ups co-stars.
During a 2023 interview with USA Today, while promoting “Murder Mystery 2,” Adam Sandler, who starred in, co-wrote and produced “Grown Ups” (2010) and “Grown Ups 2” (2013), was interviewed.
He was asked about the extravagant farewell gifts he gave to his fellow “Grown Ups” cast members by Journalist Erin Jensen.
To provide some context, Sandler reportedly bought his co-stars, David Spade, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and Rob Schneider each a Maserati.
The luxury cars are estimated to cost around $200,000 each.
Aniston was shocked by this revelation and jokingly demanded, “You gave your co-stars Maseratis?” before playfully pretending to storm off the set.
Sandler, slightly taken aback, tried to explain by reminding her that she had once said she didn’t “need fancy things.”
He then jokingly claimed that he had actually bought her a supercar too for working with him.
David Spade had previously revealed details about this extravagant gift during an interview, saying, “He gave us all a Maserati.”
Spade continued, “Chris Rock called me and he goes, ‘Will you look in your driveway?’ and I go, ‘No,’ and he goes, ‘Got out front and call me.’
“So I go out front and they’re putting a car in my driveway, and I go, ‘What’s happening?’ and they go, ‘Adam Sandler.’
“I go, ‘Oh, is this his car, I’m supposed to watch it?'”
He continued, “I call Rock and I go, ‘I’m keeping Adam’s car here for some reason,’ and he goes, ‘No, that’s for you, we all got one.'”
Similarly, Chris Rock once shared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno back in 2010:
“I went outside the other day and I had a new Maserati in the driveway. Now I think that I’m Adam Sandler’s b****.”
I think we all need to make some new friends…
