The lifeless puppy was found on the side of the road. She was unconscious and her chances of survival were slim but that didn’t stop her rescuers from trying to save her.
The puppy was picked up and taken by a stranger to a local clinic where x-rays revealed that she had a skull fracture, cerebral edema, and an injury to her cervical spine. Her injuries proved to be as serious as they first appeared to her rescuer.
Despite how the gravity of her situation, she somehow was still alive. So, the clinic began trying to help her by giving her medication, fluids, and tube feeding her while she remained nearly lifeless in their arms.
They continued to make plans to help the puppy. With the hope that she would survive, they named her Eva. Amazingly, Eva continued to fight for her life and her medical team fought just as hard to keep her alive.
As if by some miracle, Eva started to respond to treatment. Eventually, the puppy began to move on her own and even tried to walk. Before long she could support her weight and even began to show interest in life again.
The little pup started having physical therapy and continued to get stronger. She had an amazing will to live and truly beat the odds against her despite the initial fear that she wouldn’t make it.
It took a long time, but she continued to recover, and her little personality started to show as she did. Despite all she had been through, she proved to be a loving dog that never gave up on herself and trusted the people caring for her.
Before long, she was walking around the vet’s office and running around and playing! Eva did it, she beat the odds and made her medical team very happy, and warmed the hearts of everyone caring for her.
Eva is alive today because someone took the time to stop and help her. She had a strong will to live and turned out that she loved people. Her healing allowed her to become the dog she was born to be, and she eventually was adopted into a family and even had a dog friend.
Eva is a special dog and proves where there is life, there is always hope. We are so happy that she recovered and hope you enjoyed her rescue story. As always, please feel free to share with your friends.
