The Assam (NE Region) State Level Eligibility Test Commission has issued an official notification regarding the State Eligibility Test, 2023. According to the official notification, SET 2023 will be held on March 19, 2023, by the SLET (NE Region) Commission.
The primary goal of this exam is to select qualified candidates for appointment as Assistant Professors in the same league as the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (NET) (UGC).

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying for Assistant Professor vacancies. Candidates who pass the Test are eligible to submit applications for the job of Assistant Professor within the jurisdiction of the SLET Commission’s Member-States. They will be given a Pass certificate, which will be valid for the rest of their lives.
State Level Eligibility Test Educational Qualification (SLET)
Candidates who have obtained at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC are eligible for this examination. Candidates from the SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC-NCL categories who have collected at least 50% (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible to take the test.
Candidates who have appeared or will appear in the final qualifying Master’s Degree (Final Year) examination and whose results are still pending, or candidates whose qualifying examination has been delayed, may also apply for this examination.

Date and Time of Assam State Level Eligibility Test Exam

Paper-I will be a general subject paper designed to assess the candidate’s teaching/research ability. It will primarily be used to assess the candidate’s reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
Paper II will consist of 100 objective-type questions about the subject. Each question is worth two points.
Note: In Paper-I, the compensatory time for visually impaired candidates and PWD candidates with writing disabilities is 20 minutes. As a result, there is a provision for 40 minutes of compensatory time in the case of Paper II.

It is kept hoping that at least one center will be established in each of the SLET Commission’s constituent universities, with a minimum of 25 candidates. If a center’s number falls short of this, its candidates will be assigned to the nearest center.
